7 Days of Clean Eating & Juicing - Day 5,6

I made the BIGGEST batch of juice the other day and had enough for just over two days :)

Iam actually surprised that juicing does not take as much time as people think it does. For me to cut up all my fruit, put the juicer together, juice and clean up it takes about 20 minutes... way faster cooking and prepping for a few smaller meals. 

This juice looks a little yucky but it is actually my favourite so far! 




















Ingredients:
  1. Honey Dew Melon 
  2. 2 Papayas 
  3. 4 Stalks of Celery 
  4. 1 lemon 
  5. 2 leaves of cabbage
  6. 1 thumb of ginger

This juice has a very nice crispy fruity taste to it! I am headed to the grocery store later today to pick up these same ingredients to make this juice again :)

Wow, Amazing 1 Week Transformation!!

Losing weight and getting into better shape is never an easy task. It can be quite difficult now in days to lose weight because you gravitate to the internet to get ideas... and thats filled with magic pills, potions, and yo yo diets... but in reality the only thing that will take it off and keep it off is proper nutrition, fitness, and hard work.

In my option you need 3 essential things in order to be successful with your body transformation goals: 

  1. You much have a support system that is going to keep you accountable to hitting your goals. 
  2. You must have a program that is structured so that you don't have time to sway away from it
  3. You need to understand proper nutrition for your body. 

When you have all 3 put into place weight lose and toning up becomes easy! Just take a look at one of my clients who is in my current PiYo Virtual Challenge Group.

Healthy & Easy Salad Roll Recipe

Yummy!! I am headed over to my girlfriends house this afternoon to make these tasty little treats!

I have always wondered how to make salad rolls, but never looked into making them until she had posted something on her facebook about it.

If you are looking for a healthy, home cooked, whole food meal option I would suggest giving this recipe a try.



10 – 15 rice paper wrappers
1 head romaine lettuce, leaves separated and largest leaves cut in ½*
Cooked Maifun brown rice noodles (optional)
½ cup cooked shrimp, shells and tails removed, diced OR ½ cup plain tofu, sliced into small pieces
½ cup cucumber, chopped into matchsticks
½ cup carrots, chopped into matchsticks
1 avocado, sliced (optional)
fresh basil OR mint

Preparation
Wet spring roll wrapper with warm water. (I usually heat a pot of water on the stove top (not letting it get to a boil) and once it’s warm I put it in a bowl or plate that is large enough to fit the rice paper wrapper in.)
Place wrapper on a hard surface, like a plate. Place lettuce leaf on far left edge of wrapper.
Place a little of each ingredient into the wrap – about 3-4 pieces of shrimp, carrots, cucumbers into the lettuce leaf. Top with 1 slice of avocado and fresh herbs.
Roll wrapper from left to right, folding in the top and the bottom sides of wrapper toward the middle. Just before the wrapper is completely wrapped.
Complete steps 1 to 4 for each wrapper. Serve with the Peanut Sauce

My 7 Day's of Clean Eating and Juicing - Day 4

SO... I have a confession to make!!!

Today I feel off the wagon and wee little bit but that is okay, tomorrow is a new day :) I went to the Kelowna Health and Wellness exhibit with Megan today, learned lots more. After the exhibit we headed to the movie theatre in West Bank to watch Ouija, one of the newest scary movies that's out.

You can't go to a movie without popcorn right? So I had a small bag instead the the medium I would normally devour.

I am not going to lie it tasted amazing but I felt sluggish after and little my stomach felt as heavy as a bag of rocks. I couldn't believe it after only two days of eating nothing but whole food and juicing how much of a difference it was when I put popcorn with extra butter into my body.. not something that I am going to do for awhile.

I came home after the movie and finished the rest of my juice, partially to make myself feel better for falling off the wagon so soon but also because juice you only have a self life of a few days before it starts to go bad!

Todays juice was the exact same as yesterdays! Tomorrow I will be heading to the grocery store to get fresh fruits and veggies for my ned round of juicing... any suggestions and why?

My 7 Days of Clean Eating and Juicing - Day 2 & 3

Hey! Sorry I am playing a little bit of catch up. Yesterday I found myself playing catching up after not feeling very well and completely forgot to post day 2 Results and what I drank for my Juice.

Today I happen to have the exact same thing as I did yesterday so the post is going to be pretty easy!



Clean Eating
Eating clean is simply the practice of avoiding processed and refined foods and basing your diet on whole foods. But there’s much more to this plan. You can structure your diet to get proper nutrition, help manage diseases, avoid developing diseases in the first place, lose weight, remove toxins, and just feel better

Breakfast - Chocolate Shakeology blended with 1 whole banana and a tbsp of Natural Peanut Butter

Snack -  Baked chick peas. 

Lunch - Juice and a salad with lime and pepper for dressing mixed with veggies 

Snack - home made beef jerky that I dehydrated 

Dinner - chicken breaks, steamed broccoli, rice 

Snack - apple with peanut butter in the middle.  



Today I FEEL AMAZING! I am getting used to the taste of the juice. At lunch I am still  hungry but I am getting used to it. I notice that immediately after juicing I have ALOT of energy, my body feels light and not bogged down. For the last few weeks I have had what seems like a fog behind my eyes which now on day 3 I no longer have that. 

Snack foods are my weakness and so far I have not had any cravings to chow down on a Big Mac or a bag of chips!! 


Juice Recipe 
3 Pears 
5 Stalks of Celery 
3 leaves of Red Cabbage 
1/2 lemon 
1 thumb of ginger 
2 Mangos 
and I have some bananas to blend into it but I haven't yet. 

This juice is delicious and WAY better than the first one I made :) 

I can tell that my body LOVES juicing! 

The reason why I chose these veggies/ fruit to juice! They each have MULTIPLE benefits! 

  1. Pear - colon health, vitamin C levels help fight against free radicals causing cancers, gives you energy, helps with inflammation
  2. Prevention of colon cancer because of phytochemical coumarins, helps neutralize the bodies pH levels 
  3. Red Cabbage - full of vitamin K which helps the brain with mental functions and concentration. anti-inflammatory as well as blood sugar regulators 
  4. Lemon - Aids in Digestion, Loads of vitamin C, 22 anti- cancer fighting properties. 
  5. Ginger - Helps fight against fatigue, natural pain killer, aids in digestion, good for you when you have a cold or the flu 
  6. Mangos - Very good for your cardiovascular health, excellent source of iron, has cancer destroying properties. 
The fruits and veggies I choose all have a reason ... and I cross my fingers in hope they taste alright blended together!!

Could my new house be haunted?

24 Day ago we re-loacted to a new, larger condo. The 400 sq foot palace we were living in just didn't cut it any more. Lucky enough for us we found this beautiful 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo for rent in the same building as we were already in!!! - How's that for an easy move?

I was pretty darn excited because I now have a little office where I can focus on my BeachBody business instead of sitting on the bed which was also the sofa!! 

The first week we were in here I left to go home for a week visit, buy a vehicle and drive back to the beautiful Okanogan so I really only have been in here 2 weeks. 

... I usually have a pretty strong sense for paranormal activity but nothing triggered me this time. 

This all began three nights ago. Our door slammed shut in the middle of the night but we chalked it up to be the wind from our partially opened window even though it wasn't windy that night... maybe a sudden burst of wind blew it shut, pretty logical. 

The next day the lights in our main bathroom would flicker fast while I was in there but again this could easily be an electrical issue, so never thought twice about it until right now. 
Last night Tanner ( who doesn't believe in ghosts or spirits) shot straight up out of bed after hearing the door slam shut again and say a rather tall man standing next to his closet! I slept right through this whole ordeal. 

This morning I boiled water to make my Shakeology into hot chocolate! I mixed everything up, brought my cup over to the living room, sat down to begin catching up on some emails... about 5 minutes passed at this point and the kettle turned on... Now this kettle the button has to be pressed down and the orange light turns on then immediately it starts to make noise!! I have logical explanations for the other incidences besides the man but this has no logical reason as to why it happened!! 

Why is this spirit or ghost started to make itself more noticed in the last few days? 

I have never had a bad feeling in this place but Tanner said the other day that he gets strange feel ins sometimes here... again I thought that very odd from someone who doesn't believe..

Actually re-wind a few weeks when I was home visiting there were pictures taken of me and my cousins baby all of which had streaks of light in them and a few pics with orbs.. We re-shot the pics with his wife in the exact same spot as I was standing and there were nothing in her pics and when I went and re-stood in that same spot they re-appeared.

is this coincidence? Do you think it is the same spirit in two different place or am I just more in tuned to having them around me?

Why now are they wanting to be seen? 

Thoughts anyone, or words of advice please ??!!?

My 7 Day's of Clean Eating and Juicing

Today I woke up very under the weather. I got out of bed walked into the kitchen, made my Shakoelogy drink, headed to my office to do some work and within an hour I was laying in the hot bath tub and back to bed I went

I am not sure what I have come down with but it has sure left me without any energy and having a hard time to concentrate.

So.... Is there a better day than today to begin 7 Days of Juicing? I figured I may as well get all my macronutrients into my body to help speed up my recovery.

I have been researching Juicing for awhile now, have a list of saved recipes juices that will help your body... even if they don't taste the best!

Off to the store I went to pick up all my ingredients for my first juice

  1. Red Cabbage 
  2. Celery 
  3. Pears 
  4. Ginger 
So why this juice?! There is many many health benefits of the ingredients in this particular juice. I also added half a lemon to help add another flavour profile aside from the blandness. 

My entire life I have dealt with IBD and have to be very careful of the foods that I consume. These past few weeks I have been feeling a bit off and I just can not pin point it but I think it may have something to do with my IBD so I have researched the ingredients of they particular juice and thought I may as well give it a try!
